Google Tools Project Reflection ،,~

During this semester, we did different projects in MIS and one of them was about giving a training session on Google Tools for the class mates. Each student was assigned a topic to present about and mine was about Firefox with Gmail Add-ons. Actually, I have always heard about Firefox, but never used it. So, I was curious to learn the topic and it was really easy like any other searching browser, but the thing which makes it different from the other browser is the Add-ons. These are very interesting and useful application that makes our searching easier. There were many add-ons related to Gmail, and I downloaded the Gspace add-on which is in other form an online hard drive to store our materials. I explained it to my classmates, and some found it really interesting as i did =D. It was my first time to give a training session, so I was very nervous, but overall I’ve enjoyed searching, preparing and training.

I have attended all my classmates sessions also, and I really can say that I have learned many things that I didn’t knew about, which could make my searching easier. I believe that Google tools project must have been given to us from year one, so that we will know different ways of searching Google, which could also help us in our projects.

After all my classmates finshied their taining sessions, Mr.Tridib gave us a session on Blogs; which is apart of Google tools, and i'll be talking about it in details below.

One of the most interesting tasks I’ve done in M I S course is writing blogs. At first, I thought it would boring to keep on writing anything I do, just to complete 10 posts that Mr. Tridib asked for assessing -_- lol. But once I’ve started writing my weekly activities, I got used to it and felt very interested to share my daily life ^_^

Actually, I’ve stopped writing my diary after grade six, but now I feel that my blog is my online diary where I can express and share my feelings and thoughts again, that’s why I called it “my own world”. At beginning, I didn’t knew how to use the blog properly, I just knew how to post pictures and color the text ^^". Once I’ve found myself interested in it, I kept exploring the blog and learned new stuffs and ways to improve my blog. In order to make it attractive, I designed my own blog banner and profile picture + all the pictures viewed in the posts are my own captures, I hope you'd like them *,^’

Moreover, I enjoyed reading my class mate’s blogs, some were carrying useful topics and the others were entertaining =D. The thing I liked most about all the blogs included mine =D that each of us wrote in her own style without sticking with formal English language, which showed each girls personality in some ways, i believe ^_^

Since I’ve loved my own world blog, inshallah I’ll keep on writing and updating my blog =)

What is Jiu-Jitsu?

"Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a martial art developed with the concepts of leverage and technique at its core. Because it is easier to dominate an opponent by using the floor to assist in balance and control , most of the training in jiu-jitsu takes place on the ground. Being able to dominate and neutralize a larger, more aggressive opponent is a hallmark of the art. This is achieved through ground control positions and leverage-maximizing technique.

What can Jiu-Jitsu do for you?

Jiu-Jitsu students develop a deep understanding of the mechanics of the human skeletal and muscular systems. Using this knowledge they are able to subdue an attacker without causing him injury, should they so choose. Acquiring these skills is not easy, and requires mental and physical effort on the part of the student. The rewards however, are great, and include massive improvements in stamina, strength, flexibility and mental clarity. In addition to this, social skills are improved as a result of interacting with individuals and the group as a whole.

I know you all will be wondering why i am talking about this sport !

And it is obviously that i don't play it =D

i even didn't knew about it ............... until my brother "Ahmed" joined the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Team In Abu Dhabi 3years ago. He won several medals and participated in indoors and outdoors matches.

On Saturday 12th-Dec-2009, there was a live telecast for his match on Abu Dhabi Sport Channel. We were so excited to see him playing, so i took some shots from the TV while his was playing Jiu-Jitsu, to show you how the real match looks like =pP:

Unfortunately he couldn't do it this time =( !

But no worries, inshallah he'll do it next time *_^

Last Friday . . . . .

On 11th of December morning, i woke up and directly went my room's window to see the weather, it was very cloudy and rainy. i wake up my mom and told her: "Let's go picnic toady mom!", she was sort of confused what i was talking about=D. Then, when she saw the weather, she got excited and asked my father to take us to DIBA AL-FUJAIRAH, and luckily he agreed =D

My sister was supposed to attend a class in her school from 9am to 1 pm, since their exams are near and they didn't finish their book contents, so here was our problem. Thus, we decided to get all stuffs ready and we will pick her and directly go to the picnic from there, we really couldn't miss a weather like this for any reason =D

After picking up my sister, we went the ALTHEID union Co-op, the weather there was wonderful with cold air moving around ^,^ we bought some snacks and drinks and went to DIBA.













In our way to there, the rain started falling, we were so thrilled to find a suitable place to sit and have our lunch. Then, we chose a place and parked our can on the side of the road and had our lunch while the rain was falling, it was a very nice feeling, i loooooooove this weather ^,^

After that, we went around the place a took pictures, i was so afraid on my camera to get damage because of the rain, but my cam is faithful, he was fine during the rain and captured nice pics indeed =D

it was a pleasant day, i enjoyed with my family a lot ^_^

I hope that this weekend's weather will also be cloudy and rainy, so i can encourage my mom again to go for another picnic, but this time to HATTA!
I really hope so =D

Let me tell you *,^’

It was a great opportunity to participate in DWC 20th Bazaar event for continuously 3 days. As we are students from Finance major, we were involved in College's bank which sells DAWS (college currency). We were the only section in Higher Diploma year 3 to take part in this year's bazaar. I was in branch # 5 near the student center with my two friends Sara and Shaikha, we worked during these 3 day for whole 6 hours, from 9am to 3 pm. It was a wonderful experience to deal with people and exchange money.

The best day for me in the bazaar was the first day, i'll tell you why :

The morning of 8th of December; which was the first day of bazaar, was very bad, since the weather was unstable and the whole booth including our selves were full of dust -_-. After i've finished my shift at 3pm, i went to the main bank for balancing the money.

Then, my friend IMAN arrived at 4pm for her classes, which she didn't attend =D so, she took me for a round in the college with her new car. After that we went for a quick shopping in the bazaar ^,^

At 6pm, my friend RUOOF came specially from Abu Dhabi to attend the bazaar, i was really happy to see her after a long time. She brought my birthday gift which was a purple hair clip created by her own, with a wonderful card !

Then, We went around the college and bought some stuffs, RUOOF loves balloons and i wanted to bought one for her, but unfortunately it was finished =(
but overall, i enjoyed being with her a lot ^_^

That's why the first day of bazaar was especial for me, i got to see my 2 beloved friends ^_^
but i was sad for only one thing!
i couldn't get time to bring my Cam. to capture the moments, as i do every time =(
i hope i'll do next year, INSHALLA =D

3 Dec 2 0 0 9 ~ My BD !

Today is a special day for me since it is my 21 birthday + its the second day of our national day celebration =D

Always on my birthday we are on holiday, i really wish i could celebrate my birthday with my friends also =

Last night, on my way to home, once the clock striked at 12, i started receiving nice messages from my special friends, i was sooooo happy ^,^. When we arrived home, my mom brought a gift box, i was shocked of happiness =pP, it was from my best friend IMAN who has graduated last year from DWC. I really couldn't express how happy i was : ) . She bought me some nice girly stuffs which i liked alot =D

I am still waiting to recieve my birthday gifts from my mom and sisters -_- lol

the Twilight saga . . New Moon ~

Yesterday afternoon, i went to Grand Mercato Cinema to watch the movie [ New Moon ].

The previous semester, i remember Mona Alawar; my class mate saw twilight which is the first season, and she was so fond of the movie that she kept talking about it all the time and on the MSN =D. So, i got curious and excited at the same time to watch this movie, and it really worth it.

When i knew from my friends that the second season of twilight is releasing during Eid break, i was so happy; there is no other time better than this to watch this movie =D

So, i planned with my mother and sisters to go to this movie. We were supposed to reach the cinema at 1:15 pm since the movie is starting at 1:30, but unfortunately we stuck in traffic and reached there at 1:35. We were so sad because we thought that we've missed the starting. But when we went to buy the tickets, the counter lady told us that the movie have not started yet and it will start at 1:45, we were so cheerful and went to the hall directly with our pop corns and nachos =pP

Usually the second season of movies are boring, but this one was fabulous ! Since starting till end, the movie was WaaaaaaaaaaaaaaW. I didn't get bored not for a single moment, i just loved it. I won't tell you the story, you better watch it =D

I knew from my sister that there are two more seasons coming for this movie, and i am dying to watch it from now =D lol

< did you guys realize that from the stating of my post till now i am just praising the movie !! i hope New Moon's director watches this post =D looolz

So, i'll start working on them from now, to be ahead of time at least once in my life -_- lol

18th Nov 2009 - Dubai Air Show ~

Hi all,

These two weeks had gone very stress full and full of work, so i couldn't post any blog on the time of the incident =(
Any ways, i'll tell you now =D

The week before, exactly on Wednesday morning, we went to " Dubai Air Show " with Mr.tridib.

It was my first time to attend such event, the security there was very high and i had to take off my watch, ring, cam, bag for the checking, and even my sandals O.o !!

I get so frustrated when going through security gates, because each time even when i travel i face the same situation -_- lol

Unfortunately, our friend Sara forgot to bring her ID, so they didn't let her to enter the place. But thanks to "Shaima" our WASTTTTTA =D her father brought a VIP entrance card for her.

Firstly, we attended the workshop which was a bit confusing :S, but a good one. After that, we went for a tour in the air crafts, and we took many pictures =D

The crafts were amazing, i hope i'll get one in my dreams one night -_- lol

Finally, when the air show started we all became very excited, the show was really " WaaaaaaaaaaW! ", the planes movements were brilliant !
















I never thought i would enjoy watching an air show one day, because i always thought they are boring, but after attending it, i realized that i was wrong, these shows really have excitements ^_^

(AMAN) visit Reflection

On 5th of November 2009, me and my group ; saleha, shaima, sara and shaikha went to Dubai Islamic Insurance & Reinsurance Campany (AMAN) for an interview regarding our Marketing Mix Project. we arrived at 10 am and started the interview at 10:15. The interview lasted for two and half hours, but it went really well and we got the information we needed for our report. The two interviewee were very professional and helpful in providing us the extra materials we needed like their gift away items; to use it for our presentation.

After we finished the interview, we went to DUBAI MALL for lunch. Since we had class at 2:00 with mr.Philip, we were suposed to arrive college before that, and we han only one hour to eat, so we ordered fast food and i ate from Macdonald's with Saleha. Since shaima and Sara Loves Pasta, they orderd that. It looked so delicious as you can see here =D

Sheikha's lunch was rice with KABAB, the most healthiest food =D

Finally, we arrived college at 2:30, attened the classs and went back home. It was a wonderful day full of information and food =pP lol

School Personal Finance Awareness Campaign reflection

On the 4th of November 2009, we went to Dubai National Private School which was located in Al-Towar area. We arrived there at 8:30 and started our session at 9:00, due to some technological problems; their projector was not connecting to our laptop. But we solve out the problem by using one of the class girl’s laptop, they were very friendly and helpful. There were 17 students in the 12 grade class; we started our session by introducing ourselves and then we played a short video to let them guess what our topic will be for the session. Most girls enjoyed the video and guessed the topic right. Sara asked the students how many of them do have an account, unfortunately only 6 had. Then, she started explaining the presentation with some real examples. The students were very active and participated in our session by giving their opinions and thoughts about saving. After that, Salha did a small activity and introduced the saving method of envelops, such girls were interested and listened carefully. Later then, Shaima promoted our college by using the bookmarkers of Al Reem account and its benefits for the DWC students. Finally, we distributed the feedback forms to the students and teacher, their comments were very pleasant and we have found that some students were really thinking to open an account now, in order to save and get more as an interest. Shaikha and me were in charge of recording the session and taking photographs of the class and school.

Unfortunately i forgot to capture the white cheeze sandwich which sara made it especially for us. It was my first time to try it, and it was really really really ymmmmmmmmmy =D

Google project reflection

Google project is one of my best projects i've done, the one thing which was different about it from my other projects is that it was a training task not a presentation. I learnt how to research the topic, understand the right content required and deliver the information to my classmates in a simple easy way.

During my training session of Firefox with gmail Add-ones, i was very nervious, so i made many mistakes which i realized and not, but Mr.Tridib's feedback helped me alot and encouraged me to do better and more confidently training session in future, so thanks sir :)
